MINIATURE 1830s PORTRAIT OF ALLEN WALKER OF GEORGIA & SON POSS. JOHN WOOD DODGE frederick douglass so it's possible his sealsTwo original pieces relating to the Walker family of Upson County, Georgia. The Walkers were a prominent family with Revolutionary War and War of 1812 ties. They were also sl*ve owners. The first is a circa 1835 painted portrait of Allen Mack Walker (1803 1849), probably painted by John Wood Dodge (18071893) or his brother Edward S. Dodge. The style of this image, including the mat and case, looks identical to a signed J. W. Dodge example from the
